Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government for their critical support throughout the procurement and delivery processes, which he said played a key role in making the project a reality.

The governor revealed that more trains are expected before the end of the year, this time for the LRMT Red Line.

Sanwo-Olu said the new Red Line trains will double the capacity of the Blue Line units, further expanding the state’s rail transport capability.

“Before the end of the year, we’ll receive new trains for the Red Line which will have twice the capacity of the Blue Line trains,” he added. “Construction on Phase 2 of the Blue Line (Mile 2 to Okokomaiko) is also progressing steadily.”
