Earlier today, I had the pleasure of welcoming the newly appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Thibaut Boidin, to Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
Our meeting provided a valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue around strengthening collaboration between the Lagos State Government and Nigerian Breweries, one of the oldest and most influential companies in Nigeria’s manufacturing sector. As a critical player in the FMCG industry, Nigerian Breweries has long contributed to the economic development of Lagos through job creation, local sourcing, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
During our discussions, Mr. Boidin and I explored several areas of mutual interest, including strategies to promote sustainable manufacturing, investment in local talent, and fostering inclusive economic growth across the state. I emphasized Lagos State’s ongoing commitment to creating a business-friendly environment, underpinned by policies that support innovation, enterprise, and public-private partnerships.
We also touched on the need to enhance value-chain opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), especially in sectors connected to agriculture, logistics, and packaging—key components of the brewery industry. Mr. Boidin expressed enthusiasm about deepening Nigerian Breweries’ footprint in Lagos and contributing positively to the state’s long-term development agenda.
As one of the commercial nerve centres of West Africa, Lagos remains open for business, and we continue to welcome partners who are committed to responsible business practices and shared prosperity. I am confident that under Mr. Boidin’s leadership, Nigerian Breweries will continue to thrive and play a vital role in our collective drive to build a resilient and prosperous Lagos.
I congratulate Mr. Boidin on his new role and wish him great success as he takes on this important responsibility. We look forward to a stronger partnership that delivers lasting value to the people of Lagos and beyond.
