The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure (Office of Infrastructure), has announced plans to convene a major stakeholders’ meeting ahead of the proposed rehabilitation of the Eti-Osa/Lekki-Epe Expressway. The section of the road slated for rehabilitation stretches from Admiralty Junction to Jubilee Bridge, Ajah, within Eti-Osa Local Government Area.
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 12 noon, at the Lekki Conservation Toll Plaza by Chevron. It aims to engage residents, business owners, community representatives, transport unions, and traditional leaders in meaningful dialogue on the project’s scope, expected impact, and implementation plan.
According to the Ministry, the forum underscores the State Government’s commitment to inclusive governance and participatory development. By bringing key stakeholders together, the meeting will serve as an avenue to share vital information about the rehabilitation works, outline strategies for effective traffic management, and address concerns that may arise during the project’s execution.
The Eti-Osa/Lekki-Epe Expressway serves as one of Lagos State’s most important transportation arteries, linking several residential estates, commercial developments, and emerging urban centers across the Lekki-Ajah corridor. The route supports significant economic and social activities daily, accommodating thousands of commuters, goods, and services moving between the Island and other parts of the metropolis.
Over the years, the expressway has faced increasing pressure from rapid urban expansion, heavy vehicular traffic, and weather-related deterioration. The planned rehabilitation, therefore, forms part of the administration’s broader infrastructure renewal agenda aimed at improving road safety, easing traffic congestion, and enhancing connectivity across key districts of Lagos.
Speaking on the initiative, officials from the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure reaffirmed that the project aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to deliver durable, sustainable, and people-oriented infrastructure. They added that the government remains focused on ensuring minimal disruption to businesses and residents during the rehabilitation period through well-coordinated traffic diversion and communication strategies.
The State Government also encouraged all stakeholders to attend the meeting and contribute ideas that would support the smooth execution of the project. Their input, it said, would be instrumental in shaping policies that balance development with public convenience and safety.
