
Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to building stronger international partnerships that promote economic growth, innovation, and sustainable investment. The governor stated this when he received delegates from the Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) at Lagos House, Marina.
During the meeting, discussions centered on deepening economic collaboration between Lagos and France, with a focus on trade, investment, infrastructure, technology, and innovation. Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that such partnerships are vital to Lagos’ long-term vision of building an inclusive and resilient economy capable of creating jobs and supporting entrepreneurship.
He noted that Lagos, being Nigeria’s economic hub and Africa’s largest subnational economy, continues to attract global attention as a destination for investment. The governor highlighted several ongoing projects across key sectors—transportation, technology, housing, and waste management—designed to improve the ease of doing business and enhance investors’ confidence in the state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu assured the FNCCI delegation of Lagos State’s readiness to work closely with French investors and companies to explore opportunities in renewable energy, manufacturing, smart-city solutions, and creative industries. He added that the state government is committed to providing a transparent and business-friendly environment for investors to thrive.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the President of the Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for his administration’s progressive economic policies and development strides. She expressed the chamber’s interest in strengthening trade relations and facilitating joint ventures that will benefit both Lagos and French business communities.
The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to deepening bilateral relations, fostering innovation-driven investment, and expanding trade opportunities that will contribute to sustainable economic growth in Lagos State.
