
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance as he received the leadership team of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Nigeria at Lagos House, Marina. The delegation, led by the Country Senior Partner, Mr. Sam Abu, presented the newly developed Lagos State Accounting Manual — a landmark document designed to strengthen financial management and institutional efficiency across the state’s public sector.
Governor Sanwo-Olu described the manual as a major milestone in Lagos State’s ongoing drive to entrench fiscal discipline and ensure that public resources are managed with integrity and professionalism. He noted that the initiative reflects his government’s dedication to global best practices and to building institutions that deliver effective and accountable governance.
“The Lagos State Accounting Manual represents another important step in our mission to enhance transparency and accountability in government operations,” the Governor stated. “We are committed to ensuring that every kobo spent by government is traceable, purposeful, and contributes directly to improving the lives of our citizens.”
He expressed appreciation to PwC Nigeria for its technical partnership and long-standing support to Lagos State in the areas of governance reform, capacity building, and institutional strengthening. According to the Governor, such collaborations with reputable private-sector partners are vital to the realization of Lagos’ vision of becoming Africa’s model megacity.
Speaking earlier, Mr. Sam Abu commended the Lagos State Government for its proactive approach to financial governance and its commitment to innovation in public sector management. He reaffirmed PwC’s readiness to continue supporting the state in implementing sound financial frameworks and improving service delivery.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the manual would serve as a guiding framework for public officers and financial managers, helping to standardize accounting processes across all ministries, departments, and agencies.
