The Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to delivering all ongoing projects initiated under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, assuring residents that no project will be abandoned before the end of the current tenure in 2027.
This assurance was given by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, during an interactive session with journalists on Friday. Omotoso emphasized that the Sanwo-Olu administration remains focused, disciplined, and determined to see through every development effort already set in motion.
Highlighting some of the administration’s major projects, the Commissioner referenced the 150-bed Massey Street Children’s Hospital, describing it as one of the most advanced pediatric facilities in West Africa. He noted that work on the hospital is nearing completion. He also mentioned the Green Rail Line, a key component of Lagos’ integrated transportation master plan aimed at easing mobility for millions of residents.
Additionally, Omotoso cited the ongoing construction of the Ojo General Hospital, as well as the development of what he described as the largest food hub in sub-Saharan Africa. According to him, the food hub will significantly enhance Lagos’ food security architecture and has the capacity to feed approximately five million people for up to three months in the event of a crisis or shortage.
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment, Omotoso stated that Governor Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat are fully dedicated to ensuring continuity and completion across all sectors. He added that the Opebi–Mende Link Bridge, another critical infrastructure project designed to improve traffic flow on the mainland, will be commissioned before the end of the year.
Omotoso concluded by assuring Lagosians that the government is determined to maintain transparency, efficiency, and accountability while delivering lasting infrastructure that supports economic growth and improves the quality of life for all residents
