I had the honour of receiving the Honourable Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, during a courtesy visit that underscored the importance of collaboration in shaping the future of our cities. He was accompanied by the Minister of Municipalities and Housing of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Majid Bin Abdullah Al Hogail, as well as Saleh Tabakh, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Andalusia Group, Dubai.
Our meeting provided a valuable platform for thoughtful and forward-looking discussions on housing delivery, urban growth, and the evolving needs of rapidly expanding cities. We exchanged perspectives on how governments at all levels can work more effectively with the private sector to deliver practical, people-centred solutions that improve the quality of life for citizens. Central to our conversation was the need for innovative financing models, sustainable urban planning, and policies that encourage inclusive growth while addressing the realities of population expansion and urban migration.
We also reflected on global best practices and shared experiences from different regions, highlighting how international cooperation can help cities learn from one another and adapt successful models to local contexts. These engagements are essential as Lagos continues to position itself as a forward-looking megacity, committed to smart development, resilience, and economic opportunity for all.
I deeply appreciate the open exchange of ideas and the spirit of partnership demonstrated during this visit. Strengthening relationships with key stakeholders across government and the private sector, both locally and internationally, remains vital to achieving our shared development goals. Such collaborations not only broaden our perspectives but also create pathways for meaningful investment and long-term impact that will benefit Lagos and other growing urban centres for generations to come
