Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his unwavering support for the Nigerian Armed Forces, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed commitment to the welfare, professionalism, and operational effectiveness of the nation’s military.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the security and stability of Nigeria remain a shared responsibility, noting that the Armed Forces continue to play a critical role in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty, protecting lives and property, and preserving national unity. He commended the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of officers and men of the Armed Forces who, despite challenging conditions, continue to serve the nation with honour and resilience.
The Governor reiterated that the Lagos State Government will continue to collaborate closely with the Federal Government and security agencies to strengthen security architecture, support operational readiness, and promote the welfare of personnel. He stressed that ensuring the well-being of service members and their families is essential to maintaining morale and enhancing effectiveness in the discharge of their duties.
Sanwo-Olu also acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and clear commitment to building a professional, well-equipped, and motivated Armed Forces capable of responding to both conventional and emerging security challenges. He noted that sustained investment in training, modern equipment, intelligence, and welfare remains vital to achieving lasting peace and stability across the country.
According to the Governor, Lagos State will continue to provide strategic support to security formations within the state, recognising that a secure environment is fundamental to economic growth, social development, and investor confidence. He reaffirmed that security remains a top priority of his administration.
Governor Sanwo-Olu concluded by urging citizens to continue supporting the Armed Forces and other security agencies through cooperation, patriotism, and community engagement. He expressed confidence that with strong leadership, intergovernmental collaboration, and public support, Nigeria’s Armed Forces will continue to fulfill their mandate and contribute significantly to national development and peace.
