Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming the Founder and Chairman of the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD), Mr. Kamil Olufowobi, to Lagos House, Marina. His visit was a special one, as he formally presented to me the 2025 Most Influential Governor of the Year Award on behalf of MIPAD. I received this recognition with deep gratitude and humility.
This honour holds special meaning for me, not just on a personal level, but as a reflection of the collective efforts of everyone working tirelessly to move Lagos forward. It is a recognition of teamwork, shared vision, and the daily commitment of public servants, partners, and stakeholders who believe in the promise of our state and contribute to its progress in countless ways.
While I am grateful for this acknowledgment, I remain firmly focused on the work ahead. Lagos continues to face complex and evolving challenges, and our responsibility is to confront them with determination, innovation, and inclusiveness. We will continue to build on the progress we are making in key areas such as culture, tourism, and economic growth, ensuring that development translates into real opportunities and improved quality of life for our people.
I sincerely thank MIPAD for this honour and for its role in recognising leadership and impact across the African diaspora. Such recognition reinforces the importance of purposeful leadership and accountability in public service.
Above all, I thank the people of Lagos for your trust, resilience, and continued partnership. Every step we take forward is made possible by your support, ideas, and shared commitment to building a stronger, more vibrant, and more inclusive Lagos. Together, we will continue to work towards a future defined by progress, opportunity, and shared prosperity.
