
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday received the National President of the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA), Mrs. Ngozi Aneke, at Lagos House, Marina, in a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening collaboration and mutual understanding.
The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful engagement between the Lagos State Government and the leadership of NAFOWA, an organisation known for its support to families of Nigerian Air Force personnel and its involvement in humanitarian and community-based initiatives across the country.
Governor Sanwo-Olu welcomed Mrs. Aneke and commended the association for its consistent efforts in promoting the welfare of officers’ families, supporting vulnerable groups, and contributing to national unity through social interventions. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by members of the Nigerian Air Force and their families in the course of safeguarding the nation’s security, noting that their service remains vital to the peace and stability enjoyed by Lagos State and the country at large.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that improve the wellbeing of security personnel and their families, stressing that strong institutions and motivated personnel are critical to sustainable development. He emphasized that Lagos State will continue to work closely with security agencies and related organisations to promote safety, social development, and community resilience.
Mrs. Aneke, in her remarks, appreciated the warm reception accorded her by the Lagos State Government and highlighted the role of NAFOWA in empowering women, supporting children, and carrying out outreach programmes that positively impact communities. She expressed optimism about sustained collaboration with Lagos State in areas of shared interest, particularly social welfare and community development.
