The Yoruba Radical Assembly has commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for what it described as consistent and visible investment in public education, following the ongoing upgrade of school infrastructure across several communities in Lagos State.
Under the Sanwo-Olu administration, the Lagos State Government has embarked on the construction, rehabilitation, and upgrade of classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and sporting facilities in public schools located in Agege, Alimosho, Ojo, Ikorodu, Surulere, and parts of Epe. The improvements are aimed at creating safer, more conducive learning environments for students while addressing overcrowding in public schools.
The upgraded facilities feature improved ventilation, modern sanitation systems, safer classroom layouts, and designated spaces for digital and extracurricular learning. Education officials say the initiative forms part of a broader effort to strengthen access to quality education and improve learning outcomes across the state.
Reacting to the development, Omolola Olukayode, Secretary General of the Yoruba Radical Assembly, said the governor’s approach to public education deserves recognition.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu’s focus on improving public school infrastructure shows a clear commitment to the future of Lagos children. When public schools are properly equipped, students learn better and teachers can perform more effectively,” she said.
She added that sustained maintenance of facilities and continued support for teachers would help preserve the long-term impact of the investments.
Parents and school administrators in beneficiary communities have welcomed the upgrades, describing them as a positive step toward improving public education standards in Lagos.
