According to the Managing Director of the Lagos State Ferry Services (LAGFERRY), strategic investments by the Sanwo-Olu administration are driving a water transport revolution across the state’s coastal landscape. These improvements include upgraded ferry terminals, enhanced safety measures, and the expansion of marine routes to serve commuters and traders alike.
Water transport has increasingly become vital as Lagos expands, serving communities along the Bariga waterways, Apapa channels, Victoria Island, and Badagry lagoon routes. Officials note that waterborne travel is reducing pressure on congested road networks while providing commuters with reliable alternatives that integrate seamlessly with land transport systems.
