Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting and partnering with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to strengthen security across the state.
The governor made this known on Tuesday while receiving the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar (or Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke if that is the preferred designation), and his entourage during a courtesy visit at Lagos House. He emphasized that Lagos remains a critical and strategic state to Nigeria’s overall economic growth and stability, making security a top priority for his administration.
Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that as the nation’s commercial hub and one of Africa’s largest cities, Lagos plays a central role in driving economic activities, attracting investments, and creating opportunities. According to him, safeguarding lives, property, and critical infrastructure in the state requires strong collaboration with key security agencies, particularly the Nigerian Air Force.
He assured the visiting delegation that the Lagos State Government would continue to provide the necessary support, cooperation, and resources to enable the Nigerian Air Force to effectively carry out its constitutional responsibilities within the state. The governor also commended the Air Force for its dedication to national security and its contributions to maintaining peace and stability in Lagos and across the country.
In his remarks, the Chief of Air Staff expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government for its consistent support and hospitality. He highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration in addressing emerging security challenges and reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to working closely with the state to enhance security operations.
The visit underscored the strong relationship between the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Air Force and reaffirmed their shared resolve to ensure a safe, secure, and conducive environment for residents, businesses, and visitors in Lagos State.
