Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday received Miss Etiyemonu Esther, the One Day Governor and overall winner of the 21st Lagos Spelling Bee Competition, at Lagos House, Marina.
Esther, a student of Lagos State Senior Model College Igbokuta, was celebrated for her outstanding performance, discipline, and determination, which earned her the top prize in the highly competitive academic contest. The Governor described her achievement as a reflection of what is possible when young people combine confidence, focus, and hard work with a passion for learning.
Speaking during the meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended Esther for standing out among hundreds of participants from across the state. He noted that her victory is not only a personal milestone but also a source of pride for Lagos, as it highlights the quality of education and the potential of students within the state’s public school system.
The Governor emphasized that initiatives such as the Lagos Spelling Bee Competition play a vital role in promoting literacy, sharpening intellectual skills, and encouraging healthy academic competition among students.
