The Lagos State Government has taken a major step toward modernizing land administration and physical planning with the official launch of the new Electronic Physical Planning Process System (E-PPPS). The innovative digital platform is designed to transform how planning applications are submitted, reviewed, and approved across the state, marking a decisive shift away from traditional manual processes.
Speaking at the launch, I emphasized that as Lagos continues to expand rapidly and evolve into a mega-city of global significance, outdated systems can no longer meet the demands of a growing population and the increasing complexity of urban development. The E-PPPS introduces a faster, more transparent, and more efficient workflow that reduces bottlenecks, minimizes human interference, and provides applicants with clearer timelines and real-time updates.
One of the system’s key strengths is its ability to generate reliable data to guide long-term planning. With more accurate information on land use, building patterns, and development trends, the state will be better positioned to create a safer, more resilient, and well-organized city. The platform also enhances accountability by creating digital footprints for every transaction, ensuring a more predictable and professional process for developers, professionals, and residents.
To support this transition, Lagos State has equipped its physical planning officers with modern digital tools and training, ensuring they are fully prepared to operate within the new system. This investment in both technology and human resources reflects our broader commitment to good governance and service delivery.
The launch of the E-PPPS aligns strongly with the THEMES+ Agenda, particularly our goals around technology, infrastructure, and effective public service. It also reinforces President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision for a government that embraces innovation, efficiency, and transparency in the interest of the people.
I encouraged stakeholders—developers, builders, consultants, and the general public—to take full advantage of this new platform. As we move further into a digital future, this system represents a significant milestone in our efforts to build a Lagos that works smarter, operates more efficiently, and delivers a better quality of life for all who call it home.
