Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has highlighted his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across the state following the establishment of a new facility for the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).
The governor described the new home for the security agency as an important development that will improve coordination and provide additional support for security agencies working to protect residents and businesses across Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu expressed appreciation to Sir Adebukunola Adebutu Kessington for his generous support towards the initiative, acknowledging the importance of private-sector contributions and partnerships in advancing the state’s security objectives.
According to the governor, security remains a fundamental priority of his administration because it is essential to the wellbeing of residents, economic growth and the continued development of Lagos State.
He stressed that the government is committed to ensuring that residents feel safe in their communities while businesses operate in an environment that supports investment, productivity and sustainable growth.
The governor noted that creating a safer Lagos requires effective collaboration between the government, security agencies, private organisations and members of the public.
The Lagos State Security Trust Fund plays an important role in mobilising resources and providing operational support to security agencies through the provision of essential equipment, infrastructure and other resources needed to improve their effectiveness.
The new facility is expected to strengthen the fund’s operations and support improved coordination in the delivery of security-related initiatives across the state.
Sanwo-Olu’s administration has consistently emphasised the importance of maintaining a secure environment as part of its broader development agenda, recognising that public safety is closely linked to economic prosperity and social stability.
The governor reaffirmed that the protection of lives and property would remain a major focus of his government, adding that sustained investment in security infrastructure and strategic partnerships are necessary to achieve lasting results.
The development further underscores the importance of collective responsibility in building a safer Lagos where residents can live peacefully and businesses can thrive without fear.
