The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set an ambitious electoral target of delivering three million votes each for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The target reflects the party’s determination to strengthen its political base in Lagos and secure strong electoral support for both leaders as preparations for the next election cycle gather momentum.
President Tinubu, who previously served as Lagos State governor, remains a prominent political figure in the state, where the APC has maintained a significant presence over the years. The party is expected to rely on its established grassroots structures, loyal supporters and campaign networks to mobilise voters across the state.
Hamzat, who serves as Lagos State Deputy Governor and is the party’s governorship candidate, is also expected to benefit from the mobilisation efforts as the APC seeks to consolidate its position in the state.
Achieving the three-million-vote target for each candidate would require extensive engagement with residents, party members, community leaders, youths, women and other stakeholders across Lagos’ local government areas and local council development areas.
The party’s campaign strategy is expected to focus on grassroots mobilisation, voter registration awareness, public engagement and communicating its achievements and policy proposals to the electorate.
Political observers will be watching closely to see how the APC translates its ambitious target into practical mobilisation and electoral support, particularly in a state with a large and diverse voting population.
The proposed target also highlights the importance the party places on Lagos as a strategic political stronghold ahead of the 2027 elections.
As political activities intensify, the APC will need to sustain unity among its members, strengthen coordination at ward and local government levels, and encourage peaceful participation in the democratic process.
The party’s ability to convert its projected vote figures into actual ballots will ultimately depend on voter turnout, public confidence, effective campaigning and the electoral process.
With the 2027 elections approaching, the three-million-vote target signals the Lagos APC’s intention to mount a strong campaign in support of Tinubu and Hamzat.
