Lagos State politician Dr. Obafemi Hamzat has reaffirmed his commitment to building a safer, more prosperous and inclusive Lagos, as he prepares to present his manifesto on Friday, October 30, 2026, at the Main Dome of the National Theatre, Lagos State.
In a statement shared on his social media page, Hamzat said the manifesto would outline his vision, priorities and plans for the development of Lagos in the years ahead.
He explained that his focus would be on sustaining the state’s progress, addressing areas requiring greater attention and creating opportunities for residents to thrive.
According to him, the future of Lagos must prioritise the people, with government policies reflecting their hopes, concerns and everyday realities.
Hamzat highlighted infrastructure development as a key priority, promising continued efforts to complete and connect rail lines, improve road and water transportation, expand access to affordable housing, strengthen security and upgrade healthcare services across the state’s 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas.
He also emphasised the importance of education, skills development and job creation, particularly for young people. He said equipping youths with knowledge, technology and practical skills would help them succeed, while support for entrepreneurs and small businesses would create more economic opportunities.
On environmental sustainability, Hamzat stressed the need for improved waste management, flood prevention, better drainage systems and the protection of coastal communities.
He further pledged to promote responsible governance, support traders and businesses, and ensure that public resources deliver meaningful benefits to residents.
The politician noted that genuine progress should be measured not only by achievements recorded over the years but also by the positive impact of government policies on people’s lives.
He said his vision was to build on existing achievements, address shortcomings and embrace innovative ideas that respond to Lagos’ changing needs.
Hamzat concluded by promising a Lagos where opportunities reach every community and residents have a stake in the state’s future, stressing that accountability, purposeful leadership and people-centred decisions would remain central to his commitment.
He described the pledge as his “PROMISE” to Lagosians.
