Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja for the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration marks an important step in the ruling party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections, as it begins to strengthen its political structure and coordinate activities aimed at securing support from Nigerians across the country.
Sanwo-Olu, who disclosed his participation in the event, described the inauguration as a significant development in the party’s preparations for the elections. He noted that the exercise would further strengthen the collective commitment of APC leaders and members to communicating the party’s message to the electorate.
The Lagos governor stressed the importance of unity, focus and effective engagement with citizens as the party prepares for the electoral contest. He emphasised that political leaders must remain connected to the people, listen to their concerns and demonstrate their commitment to addressing the challenges facing the country.
According to him, the party’s success would depend not only on its campaign activities but also on its ability to convince Nigerians through its actions and policies that it is committed to building a better future for the nation.
The inauguration is expected to provide a platform for coordinating campaign strategies, mobilising party supporters and strengthening collaboration among APC leaders at the national and state levels.
With the 2027 general elections approaching, political parties are expected to intensify their engagement with voters, communicate their programmes and consolidate their support bases across the country.
Sanwo-Olu’s participation also highlights the involvement of key APC stakeholders in the party’s preparations, particularly as it seeks to maintain a united front ahead of the polls.
The governor reiterated the need for party members to remain focused on their shared objectives while prioritising the interests and expectations of Nigerians.
As preparations continue, the APC faces the task of sustaining public engagement, addressing citizens’ concerns and presenting its vision for the country ahead of the 2027 elections.
