Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive development and improved opportunities for residents following a visit to Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Founder and Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC).
Hamzat disclosed that he made the visit alongside Pastor Femi Faseru, the Lead Pastor of KICC Nigeria, describing the meeting as an opportunity for meaningful engagement and discussions on the development of Lagos State.
The deputy governor expressed appreciation for the warm reception he received during the visit, noting the importance of constructive conversations and collaboration in building a state where residents can achieve their aspirations.
According to Hamzat, the responsibility of building a prosperous Lagos rests on the collective efforts of government, religious institutions, private organisations and individuals who share a commitment to improving the lives of the people.
He emphasised that sustainable development requires cooperation among stakeholders and the creation of an environment where everyone has a fair opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Hamzat also reiterated the state government’s commitment to advancing the Lagos PROMISE, an agenda focused on sustaining progress, expanding opportunities and improving the overall welfare of residents.
He noted that the administration remains determined to strengthen existing development initiatives while pursuing policies and programmes that address the needs of the population.
The deputy governor stressed that inclusive governance must go beyond infrastructure development to encompass economic opportunities, social welfare and policies that enable residents to contribute meaningfully to the state’s growth.
His remarks highlight the importance of partnerships with religious leaders and other community stakeholders in promoting social cohesion and supporting development efforts across Lagos.
As Lagos continues to pursue its development objectives, Hamzat maintained that the government’s focus remains on building a state where opportunities are accessible to more people and no resident is left behind.
The visit underscores the administration’s emphasis on engagement, continuity and collective responsibility in achieving sustainable growth and improving the quality of life across the state.
