Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has appointed Dr. Ayo Ogunsan as the new Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF). The appointment marks another strategic move by the governor to strengthen the state’s security architecture and ensure the continued safety of lives and property.
Dr. Ogunsan, a respected security advocate, entrepreneur, and public administrator, succeeds the outgoing Executive Secretary, with a mandate to drive innovation and sustainability in the state’s security funding framework. His appointment is expected to bring renewed energy and strategic direction to the LSSTF, which has been instrumental in providing operational support and logistics to security agencies in Lagos.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, while announcing the appointment, described Dr. Ogunsan as a dedicated professional with a proven record of public service and a deep understanding of the security ecosystem. He expressed confidence that the new Executive Secretary would further enhance collaboration between the government, the private sector, and security agencies to maintain Lagos’ status as one of the safest states in Nigeria.
Dr. Ogunsan has served on the LSSTF Board since its inception, where he contributed significantly to the development of several initiatives aimed at improving policing, community safety, and public trust. His experience as a member of the Lagos State Security Council and his background in leadership and corporate governance are expected to play a vital role in his new position.
The Lagos State Security Trust Fund remains a key public-private partnership platform for mobilizing resources to support the Nigeria Police and other security outfits operating in the state. With Dr. Ogunsan’s appointment, the Sanwo-Olu administration aims to deepen the efficiency, transparency, and impact of security funding across Lagos.
