Today, I had the privilege of receiving His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on his arrival in Lagos, his home state and a city that occupies a deeply significant place in his personal history and public life. His return to Lagos is not only a homecoming, but also a moment that reflects the enduring connection between leadership, community, and shared heritage.
Lagos is a city that has played a defining role in shaping the President’s journey in public service. It is where many of his formative political experiences were built and where his vision for governance, development, and inclusive leadership took root. Welcoming him back to this vibrant and historic city serves as a reminder of the values, relationships, and experiences that continue to influence his leadership at the national level.
The President’s visit also highlights the importance of taking time to reconnect with home, family, and familiar surroundings. In the midst of the demanding responsibilities of national leadership, such moments provide an opportunity for reflection, renewal, and rest. Lagos, with its unique energy and sense of community, offers a fitting environment for this period of relaxation.
As he spends time in the state, his presence is warmly received by the people, who take pride in the fact that their city has produced a leader who now serves the nation at the highest level. It is a moment that reinforces the strong bond between the President and the people of Lagos, a relationship built on shared history and mutual respect.
I wish His Excellency a peaceful, restful, and fulfilling holiday as he spends this time in Lagos. May this visit provide him with renewed strength and clarity as he continues to lead the nation in service and dedication.
