Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has highlighted the progress recorded by his administration in 2025, linking the state’s achievements to broader national economic reforms. Speaking during an appearance on Journalists’ Hangout, the governor discussed how Lagos has continued to make steady gains despite economic challenges.
Governor Sanwo-Olu explained that improved revenue performance has enabled the state to expand investment across key sectors, including transportation, infrastructure, security, environmental management, and job creation. According to him, these gains have allowed the government to advance major projects and deliver results that directly impact the daily lives of Lagos residents.
He noted that the administration remains firmly guided by the THEMES+ Agenda, which prioritizes practical, people-focused development. The governor stressed that his government’s approach is centered on steady progress rather than short-term solutions, ensuring that development initiatives are sustainable and inclusive.
During the programme, Governor Sanwo-Olu also shared his perspective on the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He stated that the ongoing national reforms are beginning to yield positive outcomes, particularly in improving revenue flow to states. These improvements, he said, have strengthened Lagos State’s capacity to plan effectively, make strategic investments, and deliver critical projects.
While acknowledging that challenges still exist, the governor expressed confidence in the direction of the country, pointing to a growing sense of purpose and coordination at the national level. He emphasized that alignment between federal policies and state-level actions is crucial for sustained development.
For Lagos, this alignment has created opportunities to push forward key priorities in transportation, technology, tourism, the creative economy, and other strategic sectors. Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and long-term development.
He concluded by assuring Lagosians that the government remains focused on building a stronger, more resilient Lagos that works for everyone, through disciplined leadership and consistent delivery of results
