
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has joined traditional rulers, dignitaries and well-wishers in celebrating His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, on the occasion of his fifth coronation anniversary.
Sanwo-Olu, who was at the Aghofen Palace in Delta State to commemorate the milestone, congratulated the revered monarch on five years of purposeful and impactful leadership on the throne of his ancestors.
The Governor described Nigeria’s traditional institutions as important pillars of the nation’s cultural heritage, identity and unity, stressing their continued relevance in fostering peace, stability and cohesion within communities and across the country.
He acknowledged the role played by traditional rulers in preserving the customs and values of their people while also contributing to the development and progress of society.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the five-year reign of Ogiame Atuwatse III has provided an opportunity to reflect on the monarch’s contributions to the people of Warri Kingdom and his commitment to advancing the interests of his subjects.
He expressed his best wishes to the Olu of Warri, praying for many more years of good health, wisdom and impactful service to the kingdom and the nation.
The Lagos Governor also noted the significance of celebrating traditional institutions, particularly at a time when Nigeria continues to require unity and cooperation among its diverse peoples.
He commended Ogiame Atuwatse III for upholding the dignity and traditions of the Warri Kingdom and for providing purposeful leadership since ascending the throne.
The fifth coronation anniversary provided an avenue for dignitaries and stakeholders to honour the monarch and celebrate his achievements over the past five years.
Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his goodwill towards the Olu of Warri and the people of the kingdom, wishing the monarch continued wisdom, strength and a peaceful and prosperous reign.
