
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has met with Mr. Massad Boulos, United States Senior Advisor to President Donald Trump for Africa and Arab & Middle Eastern Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, to explore opportunities for stronger economic and technological partnerships between Lagos and the United States.
The meeting, which took place in Washington, D.C., focused on strengthening Nigeria-U.S. relations and identifying areas of cooperation that could contribute to Lagos State’s economic growth and development.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said discussions centred on opportunities to deepen economic cooperation, attract additional investments into Lagos and strengthen technology partnerships that would create lasting value for residents and businesses across the State.
The Governor noted that stronger relationships with international partners remain important to Lagos’ development agenda, particularly as the State continues to position itself as a major economic and investment hub in Africa.
According to him, the engagement was aimed at building partnerships capable of creating practical opportunities and improving the lives of the people.
Sanwo-Olu emphasised that Lagos would continue to pursue strategic relationships with global stakeholders, governments and investors in order to unlock new opportunities for economic expansion, innovation and job creation.
He also reiterated the importance of strengthening the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and the United States, noting that closer cooperation could open new pathways for investment, technology transfer and knowledge exchange.
The meeting forms part of the Governor’s ongoing engagements in Washington, D.C., where he has been seeking to deepen international partnerships and attract investments that align with Lagos’ development priorities.
Sanwo-Olu said his administration would remain committed to pursuing meaningful partnerships wherever they could deliver tangible benefits to Lagos residents.
He stressed that the ultimate objective of such engagements was to build relationships that translate into real opportunities, strengthen the economy and improve the quality of life of the people.
