Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming the state’s education sector by creating an environment where students can acquire quality knowledge, develop their talents and prepare effectively for the future.
The governor stated that education remains a major pillar in the development of Lagos, noting that sustained investment in learning institutions is essential to creating opportunities for young people and strengthening the state’s human capital.
According to him, the administration is focused on improving learning facilities, strengthening support systems for students and providing better spaces for teaching, research and innovation across tertiary institutions in the state.
Sanwo-Olu emphasised the importance of creating universities and other higher institutions where young Lagosians can pursue their academic ambitions in conducive environments while gaining the skills required to contribute meaningfully to society.
He noted that beyond improving physical infrastructure, the government is also committed to supporting students and creating opportunities that will enable them to discover and develop their abilities.
The governor said the transformation of educational institutions is part of the broader vision of building a Greater Lagos, where residents have access to opportunities that can improve their lives and contribute to the state’s economic and social development.
He added that investing in education represents an investment in the people of Lagos, particularly the younger generation, who will eventually become professionals, entrepreneurs, researchers and leaders across different sectors.
Sanwo-Olu maintained that the state’s continued focus on education would help position young Lagosians to compete effectively in an increasingly knowledge-driven and technology-focused world.
