
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has celebrated elder statesman and political leader, Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, ahead of his 90th birthday, commending his decades of service and contributions to the development of Lagos State.
Sanwo-Olu made this known while attending the Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi Annual Leadership Symposium and Educational Fund and Academy Launch, organised to commemorate the forthcoming 90th birthday of the respected leader, who holds the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
The governor described Pa Olusi as a distinguished leader, mentor and elder whose years of service have been marked by wisdom, integrity and a commitment to guiding the affairs of Lagos State.
According to Sanwo-Olu, true leadership goes beyond occupying positions of authority, noting that it involves investing in people, creating opportunities and preparing younger generations for future responsibilities.
He expressed optimism that the newly launched academy and educational fund would help preserve Olusi’s legacy by equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and opportunities needed to contribute meaningfully to society.
The governor noted that initiatives focused on education and leadership development were essential to building a brighter future, particularly by empowering young people to achieve their potential and become responsible leaders.
Sanwo-Olu further acknowledged the positive influence Pa Olusi has had on individuals and communities throughout his years of public service, describing his legacy as one reflected in the people he has mentored and the opportunities he continues to help create.
He thanked the elder statesman for setting an example of dedicated service and for inspiring generations through his leadership and guidance.
The governor also congratulated Olusi ahead of his milestone birthday, wishing him greater joy, good health and fulfilment in the years ahead.
He expressed hope that the elder statesman would continue to witness the growth of the institutions and opportunities established in his honour.
