Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on local and international investors to take advantage of the state’s economic opportunities, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment.
The governor made the call while participating in the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce Executive Business Breakfast Meeting, where he joined business leaders to discuss the future of Lagos, investment opportunities and the state’s global competitiveness.
Sanwo-Olu said Lagos has the potential to attract more investments and strengthen its position as one of Africa’s leading economic hubs. He stressed that achieving this ambition would require strong partnerships between the government and the private sector, alongside policies that support businesses and encourage sustainable growth.
According to the governor, his administration is focused on building an environment where investors can operate with confidence, businesses can expand and economic growth creates meaningful opportunities for residents.
During a fireside chat at the meeting, Sanwo-Olu also responded to questions about his administration’s achievements, particularly in infrastructure development, transportation and digital governance.
He highlighted the expansion of the state’s rail network through the Blue and Red Line projects, describing them as important investments aimed at improving transportation and supporting economic activities across Lagos.
The governor also pointed to the rehabilitation and upgrading of major roads across the state, as well as the digitisation of essential government services to reduce delays, improve efficiency and tackle corruption.
Sanwo-Olu explained that his administration was investing in both physical infrastructure and digital systems to make Lagos more attractive to investors and businesses seeking opportunities in the region.
He maintained that continued collaboration with the private sector would be essential to unlocking the state’s economic potential and strengthening its competitiveness in the global marketplace.
The governor urged investors not to remain on the sidelines but to partner with the Lagos State Government in building a stronger economy.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to positioning Lagos as one of Africa’s most dynamic economic centres through strategic investments, improved infrastructure and policies that promote business growth and prosperity.
