Today, I joined leaders and stakeholders at the official launch of the Aliko Dangote Foundation’s N100 billion Annual Education Support Programme, a landmark initiative that represents one of the most significant private-sector investments in education in Nigeria’s history. This programme is not just a financial commitment—it is a bold statement about the power of education to transform lives, strengthen communities, and secure the future of our nation.
The N100 billion initiative demonstrates what becomes possible when the private sector steps forward with vision, purpose, and dedication to national development. By prioritising the learning needs of children across the country, the Dangote Foundation is helping to bridge gaps in access, quality, and resources—gaps that have held back the potential of millions of young Nigerians.
In my remarks, I emphasized that this programme aligns with our mission in Lagos State: to build an education system that nurtures talent, supports teachers, and equips students with the tools they need to thrive in a competitive world. Our administration will continue to partner with organizations and individuals who are committed to strengthening learning outcomes and expanding opportunities for every child, regardless of background.
Education remains the foundation of a stronger economy and a more secure, innovative, and hopeful society. By investing in schools, empowering educators, and providing modern learning tools, we are shaping the leaders, thinkers, and creators of tomorrow.
I look forward with optimism to the impact this initiative will make in classrooms, homes, and communities across Nigeria. The commitment demonstrated today is a reminder that when government, the private sector, and communities unite behind a shared goal, meaningful progress becomes not only achievable but inevitable.
