A Coalition of 250 Civil Society Organisations has endorsed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), describing him as a seasoned public servant whose years of legislative experience, grassroots engagement, and commitment to development have positioned him as one of the most outstanding progressive leaders in Nigeria.
The endorsement was announced during a meeting of member organisations, where representatives unanimously expressed confidence in Senator Adeola’s leadership qualities, describing him as a leader whose record demonstrates competence, accessibility, accountability, and dedication to public service.
Speaking on behalf of the coalition, Convener Razaq Olokoba stated that the endorsement followed careful consideration of Senator Adeola’s contributions to governance, legislative reforms, constituency development, and his consistent support for initiatives that promote economic growth and social development.
According to Olokoba, effective leadership requires integrity, courage, vision, and the ability to connect with ordinary citizens.
“Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola has built a reputation as a leader who understands governance, listens to the people, and remains committed to delivering practical results. His legislative experience and developmental interventions have earned him respect across different segments of society,” he said.
The coalition noted that throughout his years in the National Assembly, Senator Adeola has contributed significantly to debates on fiscal responsibility, public finance, accountability, and national development.
The organisations further praised his commitment to education, youth empowerment, infrastructure, healthcare support, and community development initiatives, noting that these interventions have positively impacted thousands of lives.
According to the coalition, leadership should be assessed through measurable contributions rather than political rhetoric.
“We believe that experience matters. Capacity matters. Accessibility matters. Senator Adeola has demonstrated these qualities consistently over the years, making him deserving of the confidence and support of progressive-minded citizens,” the statement added.
The Coalition of 250 Civil Society Organisations reaffirmed its commitment to promoting issue-based politics, democratic accountability, good governance, and responsible leadership across Nigeria.
The coalition urged political stakeholders and citizens to continue supporting leaders with proven records of service, competence, and integrity.
