The Youth Bureau has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for demonstrating what it described as political courage and determination in pursuing reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable economic growth and national development.
In a statement issued by the organisation, the Youth Bureau said President Tinubu deserves recognition for taking difficult decisions and attempting to address structural challenges that have affected the country for many years.
According to the Bureau, meaningful national transformation cannot always be achieved through easy decisions or short-term solutions. It noted that some of the reforms being implemented by the administration are intended to create a stronger foundation for investment, economic productivity, infrastructure development and greater opportunities for young Nigerians.
The Youth Bureau particularly stressed the importance of policies that expand opportunities for young people, arguing that Nigeria’s youthful population must remain at the centre of the country’s development strategy.
“President Tinubu’s administration is operating at a time when young Nigerians are demanding better opportunities, stronger institutions and an economy that allows them to build sustainable livelihoods. The response must therefore be to create an environment where young people can innovate, work, build businesses and contribute meaningfully to national development,” the Bureau stated.
The organisation acknowledged that Nigerians have faced significant economic pressures and that reforms of this scale may come with difficult adjustments. However, it maintained that the solution should be to improve implementation, strengthen social protection and ensure that the benefits of economic growth reach ordinary citizens.
The Youth Bureau also called for greater collaboration between the Federal Government, state governments, the private sector, civil society organisations and youth-led organisations. It said young Nigerians should not merely be beneficiaries of government policies but active participants in designing and implementing solutions to the country’s challenges.
The Bureau further commended the President for maintaining focus on infrastructure, investment and economic diversification, noting that Nigeria needs an economy capable of creating opportunities for its growing population rather than depending excessively on traditional sources of revenue.
It urged the administration to continue strengthening transparency, accountability and effective communication around its policies so that citizens can better understand the objectives of reforms and measure their impact.
According to the Youth Bureau, political leadership should ultimately be judged not only by promises but by the willingness to confront difficult problems and build institutions and systems that can deliver lasting results.
The organisation therefore called on young Nigerians to remain engaged in the national conversation, contribute constructive ideas and support policies that advance Nigeria’s long-term interests.
The Youth Bureau said it believes Nigeria has enormous potential and that with responsible leadership, purposeful reforms and active citizen participation, the country can move towards a more productive and prosperous future.
The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to promoting youth participation, good governance, accountability and policies that place young Nigerians at the centre of Nigeria’s development journey.
