Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has attended the opening ceremony of the 26th Annual National Women’s Conference organised by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO).
The conference, which brings together women from different sectors and backgrounds, is focused on the importance of living with purpose and setting positive examples that can inspire others.
Speaking at the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted the significant contributions of women to the development of communities and society at large. He expressed his admiration for the strength, wisdom and impact of women, stressing the need for continued investment in women and opportunities that will enable them to contribute meaningfully to society.
According to the governor, empowering women strengthens communities and helps create a better future for generations to come. He also emphasised the importance of creating opportunities for women to take leadership roles, participate in decision-making and transform their ideas into meaningful actions.
Sanwo-Olu commended COWLSO for its efforts in bringing women together through the annual conference to learn, share experiences and inspire positive action.
He noted that the true value of the conference goes beyond the event itself, as its impact should be measured by the lives it touches and the positive changes it inspires long after the programme comes to an end.
The 26th Annual National Women’s Conference continues to provide a platform for discussions on issues affecting women while encouraging leadership, empowerment and purposeful living.
