
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, today attended the Independence Day parade held at the Lagos House, Marina, in commemoration of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
Speaking at the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu reflected on the significance of the day, emphasizing the nation’s shared history, the sacrifices of past heroes, and the collective responsibility to build a stronger and more prosperous future for both Lagos State and the entire country.
“Today is a moment to honor our past, acknowledge the sacrifices made, and commit ourselves to shaping a better tomorrow,” the Governor stated.
He also extended warm wishes to all Nigerians, saying, “Happy Independence Day to every Nigerian.”
The Governor used the occasion to remind Nigerians of the courage and commitment of past generations, saying that their sacrifices paved the way for the freedoms the nation enjoys today.
“Today is for remembering our shared journey, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the future we must build together,” he said. “It is our duty to ensure their legacy is not forgotten.”
