Today, I had the honour of joining family members, friends, and well-wishers at the commendation service held in memory of two remarkable individuals — the late Chief Oludolapo Akinkugbe and his beloved wife, Mrs. Janet Oladunni Akinkugbe.
The solemn gathering served not only as a moment of reflection but also as a celebration of lives lived with exceptional purpose, integrity, and devotion to service. Chief Oludolapo Akinkugbe was widely respected for his deep commitment to community development and nation-building. A man of vision and unwavering principle, he played a pivotal role in shaping the lives of many through his professional achievements and philanthropic efforts.
Equally inspiring was Mrs. Janet Oladunni Akinkugbe, a graceful and compassionate woman whose quiet strength and generous spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Together, they formed a formidable partnership, united by shared values of humility, service, and a passion for uplifting others.
Their passing is a great loss not just to their immediate family, but to all who were touched by their legacy. As we remember and honour their lives, we are reminded of the importance of living with purpose and of dedicating ourselves to the service of humanity.
