
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on the occasion of his 60th birthday, describing him as a visionary, committed and selfless leader who has made significant contributions to the development of Nigeria.
Sanwo-Olu, in a congratulatory message, extended his warm wishes to the Vice President on behalf of his wife, Ibijoke, his family, the Lagos State Government, residents of the state, and leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos.
The Governor commended Shettima for his distinguished career in both the private and public sectors, noting that the Vice President had spent about two decades as a lecturer and banker before venturing into public service.
According to Sanwo-Olu, Shettima demonstrated exceptional dedication to public service during his time in Borno State, where he served as Commissioner, Governor and later as Senator representing Borno Central.
He noted that Shettima’s wealth of experience and leadership qualities have continued to contribute to the effective administration of the country since he assumed office as Vice President on May 29, 2023.
The Lagos Governor also praised the Vice President for his commitment to the administration’s vision under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly in the areas of economic stability, social development and political cohesion.
Sanwo-Olu described Shettima as a pragmatic leader whose contributions have cut across different sectors and levels of governance, both at the state and national levels.
He expressed confidence that the Vice President would continue to bring his experience, wisdom and dedication to bear in the service of Nigeria.
The Governor wished Shettima good health, renewed strength and greater wisdom as he marks his 60th birthday and continues to serve the nation.
Sanwo-Olu prayed for many more years of impactful service and fulfilment for the Vice President.
