Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Seyi Oluyole and the team behind the Dream Catchers Academy on the opening of a new permanent home for the organisation in Ikorodu.
The Governor described the development as a significant milestone in the academy’s efforts to provide vulnerable young girls with opportunities to rebuild their lives through education, shelter and creative development.
Sanwo-Olu noted that the Dream Catchers Academy has continued to make a meaningful difference by taking young girls off the streets and providing them with a safe and supportive environment where they can learn, develop their talents and prepare for a better future.
He commended Oluyole and her team for their dedication to the welfare and development of children, stressing that initiatives that provide practical support and opportunities for vulnerable young people deserve encouragement and partnership.
According to the Governor, the establishment of a permanent home for the academy demonstrates what can be achieved when communities, organisations and individuals invest in the future of young people.
He emphasised that no child should be denied the opportunity to succeed because of their background or circumstances, noting that every child deserves access to a safe environment, quality education and the opportunity to discover and develop their talents.
Sanwo-Olu said the new facility in Ikorodu would provide the girls with greater stability and a sense of belonging as they continue their education and creative pursuits.
The Governor reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to supporting community-based initiatives focused on youth development, education, empowerment and social inclusion.
He stressed that the government would continue to collaborate with individuals and organisations working to improve the lives of vulnerable residents across the state.
Sanwo-Olu said Lagos would remain committed to creating an environment where children and young people can realise their potential, regardless of where they come from.
He congratulated the Dream Catchers Academy on the new facility and expressed optimism that it would become a lasting platform for transforming the lives of more young girls.
