Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has joined leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), religious leaders and residents across the state at a special inter-faith prayer service held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
The prayer session brought together people from different religious and social backgrounds to seek divine guidance, peace and success for the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, and other APC candidates contesting various positions.
Speaking on the significance of the gathering, Sanwo-Olu emphasised the importance of unity, faith and peaceful coexistence in achieving sustainable progress for Lagos State and Nigeria.
The Governor noted that while the party and its candidates had continued to work towards their political goals, they also recognised the importance of seeking God’s grace and guidance as the elections approached.
According to him, the inter-faith gathering provided an opportunity for APC members, religious leaders and citizens to come together as one family, irrespective of their religious differences, and pray for the nation’s continued progress.
Sanwo-Olu expressed appreciation to everyone who participated in the service, commending the religious leaders and party supporters for their commitment to promoting unity and peace.
He stressed that peaceful elections and responsible political participation remained essential to strengthening democracy and ensuring the continued development of Lagos and Nigeria.
The Governor also called for continued cooperation among residents and stakeholders, noting that the progress being pursued by the administration would require collective efforts, dedication and a strong sense of shared responsibility.
He reaffirmed his belief that the combination of faith, hard work and purposeful leadership would help move Lagos and Nigeria forward.
The special prayer service further demonstrated the APC’s emphasis on unity and spiritual reflection ahead of the elections, while providing an avenue for party members and supporters to reaffirm their commitment to the party’s candidates and its vision for the country.
