Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has received members of the South-West Arewa Community for the Renewed Hope Agenda, led by its Director-General, Shehu Usman Jibrin, at Lagos House, Ikeja.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the Governor and representatives of the Arewa community to discuss developments across Lagos State, ongoing efforts to improve the lives of residents, and ways of creating more opportunities for people across different communities.
Governor Sanwo-Olu described the Arewa community as an important part of the social and economic fabric of Lagos, noting that its members have continued to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the state.
He stressed the importance of maintaining open communication with various community groups, saying regular engagement remains essential to building trust, promoting understanding and ensuring that government policies and programmes reflect the interests of residents across the state.
The Governor also expressed appreciation to the South-West Arewa Community for its continued support and grassroots mobilisation, particularly its efforts to bring people together around common development goals.
Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the community’s commitment to supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda and its alignment with the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President and the Lagos State Government.
He said the administration would continue to pursue policies and initiatives aimed at creating opportunities, improving infrastructure, strengthening social development and promoting an inclusive environment where residents can thrive, regardless of their background.
The Governor emphasised that Lagos belongs to everyone who lives, works and contributes to its progress, stressing that collective participation remains vital to achieving sustainable development.
The engagement further underscored the importance of collaboration between the government and community organisations in strengthening grassroots participation and fostering unity.
Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to continue working with stakeholders across Lagos to build a more prosperous, inclusive and resilient state for all residents.
