The Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has joined members of the PBAT-KOH Campaign Council for the Sunday Asalat programme at the Muhtadeen Islamic Foundation (MIFO) in Okota, Lagos.
Hamzat and members of the campaign council arrived at the Islamic organisation to participate in the religious gathering, which provides Muslim faithful with an opportunity for spiritual reflection, prayers and supplications.
The Muhtadeen Islamic Foundation was established by renowned Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, and has continued to bring together Muslim worshippers for religious activities and fellowship.
The visit highlighted the importance of faith, unity and spiritual engagement in strengthening relationships within communities and promoting peaceful coexistence among residents.
Religious gatherings such as the Sunday Asalat programme provide opportunities for worshippers to seek divine guidance, offer prayers for their families and communities, and express their hopes for peace, stability and development.
Hamzat’s participation in the programme also underscored the role of religious institutions in community life and their contributions to promoting moral values, solidarity and mutual understanding.
The gathering brought together members of the Muslim community and other participants in an atmosphere centred on worship, reflection and collective supplication.
Prayers during such programmes often focus on the well-being of individuals, the prosperity of communities and the overall progress of Lagos State and Nigeria.
The visit comes amid ongoing political activities in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 governorship election, with Hamzat emerging as the APC’s candidate for the contest.
The PBAT-KOH Campaign Council has continued its engagements with different groups and communities across the state.
The Sunday Asalat programme provided an opportunity for participants to reaffirm the importance of spirituality and collective responsibility in building a peaceful society.
As Lagos continues to pursue development across various sectors, religious organisations remain important platforms for community engagement, social support and the promotion of peaceful coexistence among residents.
