The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday joined Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other members of the All Progressives Congress to participate in the party’s presidential primary election process in Lagos.
Governor Sanwo-Olu disclosed that he accompanied President Tinubu to his ward in Ikoyi, where the President exercised his franchise during the APC primary election. The governor later proceeded to cast his own vote at Ward E3, Eiyekole, Adeniji Adele, on Lagos Island alongside party faithful and supporters.
Speaking after the exercise, Sanwo-Olu commended the peaceful conduct of the process and reaffirmed his confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu. He noted that the President has continued to provide bold and purposeful leadership through reforms designed to strengthen Nigeria’s democratic institutions and improve governance across the country.
According to the governor, the Tinubu administration has remained committed to implementing necessary measures aimed at stabilising the polity, enhancing the electoral system and building a stronger national economy. He added that despite current challenges, the government’s long-term vision for national development remains focused on creating a more secure, stable and prosperous Nigeria.
Sanwo-Olu expressed optimism about the country’s future, stating that ongoing reforms and policy initiatives would eventually yield positive outcomes for citizens. He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and supportive of efforts aimed at deepening democracy and advancing economic growth.
The governor also praised APC members and supporters for their participation in the exercise, describing the process as another demonstration of democratic engagement within the ruling party.
