Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, joined members of the Catholic faithful, dignitaries, family members, and well-wishers at the Holy Cross Cathedral on Lagos Island to celebrate the remarkable life and achievements of His Eminence, Anthony Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie.
The special thanksgiving gathering marked a rare triple milestone in the life of the revered cleric: his 90th birthday, the 60th anniversary of his priestly ordination, and the 55th anniversary of his episcopal ordination. The event brought together people from different walks of life to honour a man widely respected for his decades of spiritual leadership, commitment to service, and contributions to nation-building.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sanwo-Olu described Cardinal Okogie as a symbol of faith, integrity, and selfless service whose influence has transcended religious boundaries.
