Governor Sanwo-Olu stated this following his participation in the inaugural Africa Business Investment Summit in Washington, D.C., held under the patronage of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The Governor described the summit as an important platform for bringing together investors, business leaders and policymakers to explore practical opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation between Africa and the global business community.
Sanwo-Olu said he used the opportunity to engage with members of the African diaspora, investors and business leaders on ways to develop sustainable partnerships that would translate into tangible opportunities and investments across the continent.
He noted that Lagos, as Africa’s largest sub-national economy, remains strategically positioned to serve as a major destination for investment, innovation and enterprise.
According to him, the State is creating significant opportunities across critical sectors, including infrastructure, technology, finance and other areas capable of supporting economic expansion and improving the livelihoods of residents.

He further emphasised that partnerships with investors and the private sector would play an important role in creating jobs, expanding economic opportunities and strengthening Lagos’ position as a leading business destination in Africa.
Sanwo-Olu reiterated his administration’s commitment to maintaining an open and investor-friendly economy, while continuously seeking strategic partnerships that can deliver sustainable development.
He said Lagos would continue to engage investors, business leaders and the diaspora to identify areas of mutual interest and develop partnerships capable of producing lasting economic benefits.
