Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has held a meeting with Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Kayode Are, to discuss developments in Lagos and opportunities for stronger international partnerships.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the Governor and the Nigerian envoy to exchange views on the progress recorded in Lagos, ongoing development initiatives and the opportunities available to further position the state on the global stage.
Sanwo-Olu described the engagement as valuable, noting that discussions with Nigeria’s diplomatic representatives abroad are important to strengthening connections between Lagos, Nigeria and the international community.
The Governor expressed appreciation to Ambassador Are for his kind words, encouragement and continued support, emphasising the importance of collaboration in advancing the interests of Lagos and Nigeria.
According to Sanwo-Olu, Lagos remains committed to building stronger relationships with international partners while attracting investments, expanding economic opportunities and showcasing the state’s potential to the world.
He stressed that effective diplomatic channels remain essential as Lagos continues to pursue partnerships capable of contributing to economic growth, innovation, job creation and sustainable development.
The Governor noted that Lagos’ position as Nigeria’s leading economic and commercial hub provides a strong foundation for deeper engagement with global investors, institutions and governments.
