Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has received the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, alongside a high-powered delegation of party leaders in Lagos as part of ongoing nationwide consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sanwo-Olu disclosed that the delegation’s visit formed part of consultations for the Tinubu 2027 project, aimed at mobilising support and strengthening engagement with key stakeholders across the country.
As part of the activities, the delegation visited Iga Idunganran, the official palace of the Oba of Lagos, where they paid homage to the Lagos monarch, His Royal Majesty, Oba Riliwanu Osuolale Babatunde Akiolu.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the political leaders to seek the traditional ruler’s blessings and guidance as they advance their political engagements ahead of the 2027 elections.
Sanwo-Olu described the movement as one driven by the leadership and reform agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the President’s policies and track record continue to inspire the campaign’s vision for a better Nigeria.
The Governor stressed the strategic importance of Lagos to the political movement, describing the state as the heartbeat of the Tinubu 2027 project and a major centre of political mobilisation.
He also acknowledged the importance of traditional institutions in strengthening political and community engagement, noting that their support and guidance remain valuable to the success of the movement.
Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence that continued consultations with political leaders, traditional rulers and other stakeholders would help build stronger support for the project across the country.
He said Lagos would continue to play a leading role in the political process while supporting efforts aimed at advancing the Tinubu administration’s vision and securing broader support ahead of the 2027 elections.
