Group Commends Sanwo-Olu’s Support for Tech-Driven Growth as Lagos Pledges Continued Backing for NCC
The Epe Youth Forum group has commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for reaffirming Lagos State’s support for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in its role as a key driver of economic growth, technology adoption and investment in Nigeria’s communications sector.
At a courtesy visit on Thursday, January 30, 2026, by the NCC Governing Board led by Chairman Idris Olorunnimbe, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasised that the state government will continue to work closely with the NCC to deepen technology-led development across Lagos. He described the NCC as a “forward-looking Federal Government commission” and reiterated Lagos’ commitment to fostering an enabling environment for communications, digital innovation, and investment.
Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that supporting communication infrastructure and regulatory bodies is essential to unlocking economic opportunities for Lagosians, strengthening the digital economy, and ensuring that the state remains a leader in tech adoption and business growth. He also highlighted Lagos’ readiness to partner with public and private sector players to encourage innovation, broaden internet access, and attract technology investments.
Reacting to this development, Adewale Adeosun, Coordinator of the Epe Youth Forum, praised Governor Sanwo-Olu’s forward-thinking stance on technology and economic growth:
“Governor Sanwo-Olu’s support for the NCC and tech-driven initiatives shows a clear understanding that digital infrastructure is central to Lagos’ future. Partnering with regulatory institutions encourages investment, creates jobs, and ensures our youth are plugged into the global digital economy.”
He further added that continuous backing for technology and communications will help position Lagos as a regional hub for innovation, making it easier for startups, tech firms, and young entrepreneurs to flourish.
