Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured stakeholders that Lagos State will deliver the best editions of the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) 2026 and the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) 2027 when the state hosts the two major continental events.
Sanwo-Olu gave the assurance while speaking about Lagos’ readiness to host the gatherings, which are expected to attract thousands of participants from across Africa and other parts of the world. According to the governor, Lagos is fully prepared to provide the infrastructure, organization, and hospitality required to ensure the events are successful and memorable.
The governor described Lagos as Africa’s leading commercial and creative hub, noting that the city possesses the energy, talent, and economic strength needed to host large-scale international events. He explained that CANEX and the Intra-African Trade Fair will serve as important platforms for promoting trade, creativity, and collaboration among African countries.
Sanwo-Olu added that the events will bring together business leaders, investors, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and creatives who will explore opportunities for partnership and economic growth across the continent. He noted that the gatherings would also highlight Africa’s growing creative industry, including music, fashion, film, and digital innovation.
The governor further emphasized that hosting the events would strengthen Lagos’ position as a global destination for commerce, tourism, and cultural exchange. He said the state government is committed to working closely with organizers and stakeholders to ensure that every aspect of the events is properly planned and executed.
According to him, the successful hosting of CANEX 2026 and the Intra-African Trade Fair 2027 will create significant economic benefits for Lagos and Nigeria as a whole. The events are expected to attract investments, boost tourism, and create opportunities for businesses and young entrepreneurs across Africa.
Sanwo-Olu therefore reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering world-class events that will showcase the best of Africa to the global community
