
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships aimed at driving economic growth, innovation, and youth development in the state.
The governor made this known while receiving the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Daniel Krull, on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed opportunities for collaboration in critical sectors, including technology, renewable energy, and vocational training. These areas, according to Governor Sanwo-Olu, are vital to equipping young people with the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving global economy.
Sanwo-Olu noted that Lagos remains at the forefront of innovation and economic development in Africa, making it an attractive destination for international investors and development partners. He emphasized the importance of leveraging strategic partnerships to accelerate growth, create jobs, and improve the quality of life for residents.
The governor highlighted the state government’s ongoing efforts to build a conducive environment for businesses and investments through infrastructure development, policy reforms, and support for innovation-driven enterprises.
He also stressed the significance of vocational and technical education in addressing youth unemployment, expressing optimism that collaboration with Germany could further enhance skills acquisition programmes and workforce development initiatives across the state.
Mr. Krull commended Lagos for its dynamic economy and growing reputation as a hub for innovation and enterprise in West Africa. He expressed Germany’s interest in exploring practical areas of cooperation that would deliver mutual benefits and contribute to sustainable development.
