
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector through sustained collaboration with medical professionals across the state.
The governor made the pledge while receiving the Executive Council of the Medical Guild, Lagos, led by its Chairman, Dr. Oluwole Olusanya, on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina.
During the meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu said discussions focused on the state of healthcare delivery in Lagos and the shared responsibility of ensuring that residents continue to receive quality, accessible and efficient medical services.
He described healthcare as one of the key priorities of his administration, stressing that the government remains committed to supporting policies and initiatives that improve the welfare of healthcare workers while enhancing service delivery across public health institutions.
The governor commended the Medical Guild for its dedication, professionalism and continued contributions to the growth of the health sector in Lagos State. He noted that the Guild has remained a valuable partner in the government’s efforts to build a stronger and more resilient healthcare system capable of meeting the needs of the state’s growing population.
Sanwo-Olu also emphasized the importance of dialogue and partnership between the government and medical practitioners, saying such collaboration is essential to addressing challenges facing the health sector and improving healthcare outcomes for residents.
“I appreciate the Guild’s commitment and look forward to strengthening our collaboration in the interest of our people,” the governor said.
The courtesy visit further reinforced the long-standing relationship between the Lagos State Government and the Medical Guild, with both parties expressing their readiness to work together in advancing quality healthcare delivery.
