
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the state’s financial sector through strategic collaboration with professional institutions.
The Governor made the pledge on Wednesday while receiving the President and Chairman of the Council of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Dr. Dele Alabi, and members of his delegation on a courtesy visit.
Sanwo-Olu described the financial sector as a critical driver of economic growth and development, stressing that sustained partnerships with professional bodies such as the CIBN are vital to enhancing the industry’s contribution to the economy.
According to the Governor, Lagos State will continue to implement policies and create an enabling environment that allows financial institutions to thrive while delivering efficient services to residents and businesses.
He noted that collaboration between the government and professional organisations remains essential to promoting innovation, improving financial inclusion and supporting sustainable economic development across the state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also commended Dr. Alabi and the leadership of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria for their dedication to advancing professionalism and excellence in Nigeria’s banking industry.
He expressed appreciation to the institute for its continued efforts in strengthening the nation’s financial system, stating that such commitment is crucial to building a more resilient economy for both Lagos State and Nigeria.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s readiness to continue working closely with stakeholders in the financial sector to drive economic prosperity and improve the quality of life for Lagos residents.
