
The Lagos State Government has celebrated the outstanding performance of Dazzle Football Club of Lagos following the team’s impressive showing at the prestigious Dana Cup in Denmark.
The Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, alongside the Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon. Lekan Fatodu, received the young footballers and their technical crew at the Commission’s office inside Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.
The team returned home with remarkable achievements, winning the Gold Medal in the U-12 category and securing a Silver Medal in the U-14 category at the international youth football tournament.
Adding to the team’s success, Toheeb Ojerinde of the U-14 squad was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament in recognition of his exceptional individual performance and contribution to the team’s impressive campaign.
Receiving the team, the Lagos State Government commended the players, coaches and management of Dazzle Football Club for their discipline, determination and commitment to excellence. The government noted that their achievements have brought honour to Lagos State and Nigeria on the international stage.
Congratulating the young footballers and their technical crew, Hon. Lekan Fatodu described their performance as a testament to the immense sporting talent and potential among young people in Lagos.
He commended the team for displaying professionalism, teamwork and resilience throughout the competition, noting that their success had demonstrated that with the right support, training and opportunities, young Nigerian athletes can compete successfully at the highest levels.
Fatodu further stated that the achievement was a source of immense pride not only to Lagos State but to the entire nation.
The Lagos State Government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting youth development and grassroots sports, while encouraging young athletes to remain focused, disciplined and dedicated to achieving excellence in their chosen fields.
